Two pedestrians killed by drunk driver at Battaramulla

Two persons lost their lives following an accident on the Kaduwela-Battaramulla main road near the 8th mile post earlier today (9).

The casualties occurred when a jeep travelling towards Battaramulla ran over two pedestrians who were on the side of the road.

The two individuals suffered sustained heavy injuries and were admitted to the Colombo General hospital. The two persons aged 24 and 38 were pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police officials stated that the driver of the jeep was taken into custody and that he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
