State Minister Palitha Range Bandara acquitted from all charges

The Colombo High Court today (12) acquitted Skills Development and Vocational Training State Minister Palitha Range Bandara from all charges in the case filed against him.
The case was taken up for hearing before Colombo High Court Judge A.A.R. Heiyanthuduwa today.
The Colombo High Court ordered the release of the Minister, following the complainant’s decision not to proceed with the case.
Deputy Solicitor General Bimal Ratnayake appearing on behalf of the Attorney General told the court that a settlement has reached between the two parties.
The prosecution has tendered an affidavit citing that he has no intention to proceed with the case.
Therefore, the Deputy Solicitor General requested the court to grant permission to withdraw the indictment.
The Minister was accused of misappropriating Rs. 5.4 million from a businessman promising to hand over the license for his luxury vehicle to the businessmen after five years.
