Two persons arrested with a firearm and a hand grenade

Two persons were arrested over the possession of a firearm and a hand grenade in Pitigala, Niyagama area.

The locally manufactured 9 millimeter firearm and the hand grenade manufactured in a foreign country were seized following a tip-off received by the Special Task Force.

The 25 and 27 year-old suspects were identified as residents of Kurunegala.

They will be produced before Elpitiya Magistrate today.
