December 18, 2017   09:50 am

The Joint Postal Trade Unions Front will launch a protest in front of the Central Mail Exchange at Colombo today (18).

The protest will be staged based on issues that have arisen pertaining to the recruitment in Postal Department, Co-convener of the Postal Front K.M. Chinthaka Bandara said.

No solution has been provided so far although the responsible parties have been informed, he said.

A majority of employees attached to the Postal Department have been deprived of their privileges due to these issues, he added.

If the authorities fail to address their issues within a period of two weeks, the Postal trade Unions will enter into a continuous strike action, the co-convener said.
