Gem & Jewellery Authority urges caution when buying gold

The public should be more cautious when buying gold items, warns the National Gem & Jewellery Authority (NGJA).

There is a trend of selling substandard gold items with the recent increase of gold prices, says Mahesh Gammanpila, Director General of National Gem & Jewellery Authority.

It is important to check for the seal of certification of standard when buying gold items, says the director.
