Thewarapperuma and Heshan Withanage arrested

UNP MPs Heshan Withanage and Palitha Thewarapperuma have been arrested over the incident of assault, stated Police Spokesperson.

The arrest was made regarding the assault of retired Major Ajith Prasanna in front of the Temple Trees on November 01.

Major Prassana had stated that a group of people who came from within Temple Trees attacked him when he was walking with a few others in front of the Temple Trees at around 2.30-3 pm.

He had lodged a complaint at the Colpetty Police stating that MP Palitha Thewarapperuma and MP Heshan Withanage, along with another group of people, attacked while verbally abusing him with obscenities.

Reportedly, the retired Major had suffered injuries to the face and body and had been wounded above the eye.
