May 6, 2020   02:32 pm

Thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western and Uva provinces and in Ampara and Mannar districts in the evening or night.

Issuing a ‘high’ risk level warning, the Meteorology Department said fairly heavy rainfall above 75 mm is likely at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva provinces and in Kaluthara districts.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
