Welisara Naval Base to resume operations from next week

Naval Base in Welisara, where the largest cluster of Covid-19 cases was reported from, will resume its operations from next week, says Sri Lanka Navy.

Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe has handed over the letter declaring the Welisara Naval Base premises as a coronavirus-free zone to the Commander of Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva on Friday (19).

Accordingly, the camp will recommence operations under several stages, the Navy Spokesperson Lieutenant Commander Isuru Suriyabandara said.
