Wayamba PC member remanded after ‘home and home’ clash

Wayamba Provincial Council member Nishantha Perera has been remanded till April 5 for allegedly assaulting and causing injury to another person during a clash.

 

 

Nishantha Perera was remanded by Chilaw magistrate K. Sivapathiyar Sunderam after considering evidence submitted to court by Police.

 

Nishantha, a United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) candidate at the upcoming general election, had allegedly assaulted Deputy Minister Neomal Perera’s son during a clash that had erupted last morning between two groups of the same party.
