VIDEO: Police teargas DNA protest in Galle

Police have used teargas to disperse a protest organized in Galle by the DNA. The Democratic National Alliance organized the protest to demand the release of Rtd. Gen. MP Sarath Fonseka. Our correspondent in the area confirms that MPs Arjuna Ranatunga and Vijitha Herath participated in the protest.

 

The protestors have attempted to march from the Olcott statue in Galle to the town centre. Police have used teargas to disperse the march in front of the Galle Police station.
