Advisory issued for heavy rainfall above 100mm

The Meteorology Department has issued an ‘Amber’ warning for heavy rains in Southern Province as well as in Kalutara and Ratnapura districts.

Accordingly, heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in the aforementioned areas.

Prevailing showery condition in the south-western part of the Island is likely to continue further due to active southwest monsoon conditions over the island, the weather alert read further.
