A court order has been issued preventing trade unionists of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) from entering several locations of importance in Colombo, including the Presidential Secretariat.

The relevant court order was issued by the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court against CEB trade union leader Ranjan Jayalal and others, from entering the premises of the Presidential Secretariat, the Ministry of Finance, the President’s House and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

The Ceylon Electricity Workers’ Union launched a three-day protest campaign on Wednesday (02 Jan.), against the Bill to restructure the CEB.
