The operators of private passenger buses in Jaffna have withdrawn from passenger transport services since this morning (Feb. 29).

The commuters were severely inconvenienced as both long-distance and short-distance private passenger buses had joined the strike action, Ada Derana reporter said.

The strike action was reportedly launched demanding a permanent bus stand for the private passenger buses in Jaffna, according to the reporter.

Meanwhile, the striking private bus operators also held a demonstration in front of the Jaffna Bus Depot.
