New Chief Secretaries appointed to Northern, North Western provinces

President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Tuesday (March 12) appointed new chief secretaries to the Northern and North Western provinces.

Accordingly, L. Ilangovan, a distinguished officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, was appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the Northern Province.

He previously served in various ministries in the Northern Province and held the position of Northern Province Governor’s Secretary. Prior to his appointment as the Chief Secretary, Ilangovan was the President’s Additional Secretary for Northern Province Development at the Presidential Secretariat.

Meanwhile, Deepika K. Gunaratne was appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the Wayamba Province. She previously served as the Secretary to the Governor of the Southern Province.

Their letters of appointment were handed over by President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake at the Presidential Secretariat today.
