8-year-old dies after ‘concrete giraffe’ falls on him in garden

An 08-year-old child has been killed in a tragic accident where a concrete statue of a giraffe had collapsed and fallen on him.
The incident has taken place in the Diggalagedara area of Hettipola, the police said.
The child, who was seriously injured in the accident, has succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to Kuliyapitiya Hospital.
Police said that the concrete statue of a giraffe that was placed in the garden of the deceased child’s house has collapsed this way.
Hettipola Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
