65-year-old woman dies in stabbing at Padukka

A woman has been stabbed to death with a sharp weapon inside her house in the Wataraka area of Padukka.

The woman had been stabbed by an unidentified individual this morning (29) after she had reportedly entered the front room of the house for some reason. The attacker had later fled the scene. 

The woman, who was critically injured in the attack, had been rushed to the Padukka Divisional Hospital, and was later transferred to Homagama Base Hospital for further treatment where she had succumbed to injuries. 

The deceased is a 65-year-old mother of one who was a resident of the Wataraka area of Padukka.

The suspect involved in the murder has not been arrested so far and Meegoda Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
