Derailment disrupts train services on up-country line

Train services along the up-country railway line have been disrupted owing to the derailment of a night-mail  between Galabada and Inguru Oya railway stations, Sri Lanka Railways (SLR) said.

The train plying from Badulla to Colombo Fort Station had commenced it’s journey at 06.30 pm yesterday (29) while the derailment took place at around 1.15 a.m. today 

Due to this, the train services on the upcountry line have been disrupted.

The department further stated that two short-distance trains have been cancelled and the work related to restoring the derailed train has already commenced.
