Person injured in stabbing at Maharagama town

Police Special Task Force (STF) personnel have arrested an individual for attempting to commit murder by attacking another person with a sharp weapon.

The STF personnel had arrested the suspect with great effort while he was attacking another individual with a sharp weapon in front of the Maharagama public fair.

STF has taken custody of several intoxicating pills and a sharp weapon which were found in the possession of the relevant suspect, who is identified as a 40-year-old resident of Maharagama.

The person who was attacked has sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to the Kalubowila (Colombo South) Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

Maharagama Police is conducting further investigations related to the incident.
