Train services on the coastal line have been delayed due to damage to a rail track between Bambalapitiya and Wellawatte, the Railways Department announced.

Accordingly, the train operations on the Coastal Line have been limited to a single track causing delays.

The Deputy General Manager of the Railways Department, N. J Indipolage stated that the necessary steps have been taken to commence work related to restoring the rail track.
