Man killed in crocodile attack in Kataragama

A man was snatched by a crocodile while he was bathing in the Menik Ganga in the Kataragama police division.

Police stated that the incident had occurred last morning (06) when the victim was bathing near the second bridge of the Menik Ganga.

The remains of the victim have been recovered with the assistance of Police lifeguards and wildlife officers.

The identity of the deceased remains unconfirmed and the Police stated that he is believed to be between 30-35 years of age.

Kataragama Police are conducting further investigations related to the incident.
