Youth killed as motorcycle collides with ambulance

One person was killed following a head-on collision involving a motorcycle and an ambulance this morning (19).

The accident had occurred when an ambulance belonging to the Balapitiya Base Hospital, which was travelling from Galle towards Colombo, collided head-on with a motorcycle travelling on the opposite direction at the Tharuna Sewa Mawatha Junction on the Galle-Colombo road.

The 22-year-old motorcyclist who was seriously injured from the accident was pronounced dead upon admission to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
