Eight foreign nationals arrested over cybercrimes

Galle Police have apprehended eight individuals including six Chinese nationals for allegedly engaging in cybercrimes.

Based on the information received, the police officers had conducted a raid yesterday (01) at a temporary accommodation in the Udugama area in the Galle Harbour Police Division.

The arrested suspects, aged between 24 and 36, include six Chinese nationals, with the remaining two being identified as Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan nationals.

During the operation, police have seized 09 computers, 73 mobile phones and a large number of SIM cards found in the possession of the suspects.
