22 injured as two buses collide head-on

As many as 22 individuals have been injured and hospitalized after two private passenger buses collided head-on on the Maha Oya – Aralaganwila road.

Police said that the accident took place yesterday (03) as a private bus travelling towards Aralaganwila collided with another bus that came from the opposite direction.

The injured individuals include 12 females, 2 males and 8 children, and they were admitted to Maha Oya Hospital for treatment, the police said.

The driver of one of the buses involved in the accident has been arrested and Maha Oya Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
