Sri Lanka to commence egg imports in next 10 days

The Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation stated that the importation of eggs will recommence within the next 10 days.
The corporation’s chairman Asiri Walisundara stated that relevant procurement process is currently in progress.
The Cabinet recently granted approval for egg imports, as local egg prices had exceeded Rs. 50.
Accordingly, it is planned to import around 30 million eggs per month.
