2024 Presidential Election: Placing of deposits to conclude tomorrow

The placing of deposits for the 2024 Presidential Election is scheduled to be concluded from 12 noon tomorrow (14).

The Election Commission has stated that 32 individuals have already placed deposits to contest in the presidential election.

Among these, are 16 candidates from recognized political parties and one from other political party have placed deposits.

Additionally, 15 independent candidates have also deposited money for the upcoming presidential election.

It is reported that another group of individuals plan to place their deposits today (13) for the presidential election.

The acceptance of nominations for the upcoming presidential election is scheduled to begin the day after tomorrow (15) from 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.

Police have announced that a special security program will be implemented in connection with the election secretariat in Rajagiriya on the day of the nomination acceptance.
