Sri Lanka’s tourist arrivals exceed 1.25 million

The total number of foreign tourist arrivals recorded in Sri Lanka this year has exceeded 1,250,000.

According to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, approximately 1,271,432 foreign tourists have visited the island so far this year.

A majority of the foreign visitors are Indian tourists and this figure is 237,649.

In addition to this, large numbers of tourists from countries including Russia, Britain, Germany, China and France have also arrived in the island this year.

Meanwhile, it is also reported that a total of 73,373 tourists have visited the island in the first 11 days of this month.
