Sri Lanka aiming for over 1 million tourist arrivals in last five months of 2024

The Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) Chalaka Gajabahu says they expect the arrival of over one million tourists during the last five months of this year, in order to achieve the annual target of 2.3 million tourist arrivals for the year.

Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo, the SLTPB Chairman stated that the tourism promotion campaigns carried out by the SLTPB have showed results, adding that they expect the country’s situation to be at ease to achieve this target.

He also mentioned that the soft launch of the mobile application for Sri Lanka Tourism will take place in October.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of the SLTPB Nalin Perera highlighted that digital and promotion campaigns for 5 main markets will kick off in the month of September.
