ITAK’s decision on endorsing presidential candidate to follow manifesto review

The Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) has announced that it will determine which candidate to support in the upcoming presidential election only after reviewing the manifestos of the contenders.

This decision has been made during the party’s central committee meeting held yesterday (18) in Vavuniya, which saw the participation of all party members.

The discussions reportedly grew heated as various opinions emerged regarding which candidate ITAK should endorse.

ITAK Member of Parliament Shanakiyan Rasamanickam stated that the party’s final decision will be announced following the release of the main presidential candidates’ manifestos, indicating that ITAK is taking a cautious and considered approach to its endorsement in the election.
