Election-related complaints nears 1,000

The complaints received by the Election Commission of Sri Lanka related to the upcoming presidential election have further increased.

The Election Commission says that 65 more complaints have been received within the past 24 hours, pertaining to the 2024 Presidential Election.

Accordingly, a total of 901 election complaints have been reported between July 31 and August 23, the Election Commission said.

This includes 427 complaints received by the national election-related complaints management centre and 474 complaints received by the district centres, according to the Election Commission.

The Presidential Election is scheduled to be held on September 21.
