World Junior Athletics Championship: Sri Lanka’s Merone Wijesinghe qualifies for 100m semi-final

Sri Lankan junior sprinter Merone Wijesinghe has qualified for the semi-finals in the Men’s 100m event at the World Junior Athletics Championship 2024, being held in Lima, Peru.

The 19-year-old finished second in the Heat 4 of the event last night (28), with a timing of 10.55 seconds. Okon Israel Sunday from Nigeria had placed first with a timing of 10.48 seconds in the same Heat.

This time, 13 Sri Lankan athletes had qualified for the 2024 World Junior Athletics Championship held in Lima, Peru.
