Man stabs son to death, injures daughter-in-law

A youth has reportedly been attacked to death with a sharp weapon while his wife has been injured and hospitalized in Serupitiya, Dehiattakandiya this morning (30).

Police have commenced an investigation based on information received that a youth had been stabbed to death with a sharp weapon and a woman had been injured in the incident.

The deceased is a 24–years–old residence of Serupitiya, Dehiattakandiya.

The police investigations have revealed that the murder was committed over a family dispute.

Police further stated that the victim’s father had attacked his son and daughter-in-law with a sharp weapon and committed this crime.

The suspect has been arrested and the body of the son has been sent to Polonnaruwa Hospital for the post-mortem examination.

Dehiattakandiya Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
