Malaysian woman arrested with cocaine worth over Rs. 110 million

A Malaysian woman has reportedly been arrested with 03 kilograms of cocaine in the Bellanwila area.

The 24-year-old foreign national was arrested last night (29) by a team of officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) while attempting to sell the drugs.

The cocaine had been found packed into several small capsules and concealed inside packaging for sweets. 

The gross street value of the drug haul is estimated to be over Rs. 110 million, according to the PNB. 

It is reported that the woman will be further questioned based on the detention order obtained from the Gangodawila Magistrate’s Court.

On the instruction of Senior DIG Ranmal Kodithuwakku, the DIG and Director in charge of the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) is monitoring the relevant investigations.
