Dilith Jayaweera on how his political approach stands apart

The presidential candidate of ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ alliance Dilith Jayaweera states that his group is the only one that has presented a novel program for the people of the country.

Speaking during a press conference held in Colombo, Jayaweera pointed out that all the parties that have contested the presidential election are trying to popularize their old policies once again.

“The country is asking for something new. We stand for it. No one else has proposed something different. Something different has been proposed in our strategic plan. We are asking the dear people of Sri Lanka to look at this different thing in a different manner.”

Meanwhile, responding to a question raised by a journalist regarding the difference in ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ alliance, as the people are also following the National People’s Power (NPP) hoping for a change, he said: “I am asking what is the difference stated by Janatha Vimukti Peramuna? If not in the speeches made by Anura Kumara, where else is that difference?”

“If they are shouting on the stages sowing the seeds of hatred the same way as before; if they do not propose any strategy; if they say that the rest of the Vine Bridge [Vel Paalama] should go as they have been told before in the past…If Lalkanta, Harini, Vijitha Herath and Sandunnetthi are all talking about doing the same old work in a different way but with more hatred than before…how can people trust them?”, he questioned.
