The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has reported facts to the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (06), pertaining to an investigation related to the information received of a possible attack on one of the candidates contesting the upcoming presidential election.

The presenting of facts was carried out at the chambers of the Colombo Chief Magistrate Thilina Gamage, Ada Derana reporter said.

However, the CID has informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate that the relevant investigation was launched based on information provided by a former police officer residing in Kandy.

Accordingly, the magistrate has reportedly ordered the officers of the CID to carry out further investigations into the matter and to arrest the suspects, if any.

Furthermore, it has reportedly been ordered that the case file related to the incident be kept in the safe box of the court.
