The Department of Posts said that the distribution of approximately 3 million official polling cards for the 2024 presidential election has been completed thus far.

The official polling card distribution process, which began on September 03, is expected to continue until September 14.

Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe stated that Sunday (Sep. 08) has been designated as a special day for the distribution of official polling cards, despite it being a weekend.

“Although tomorrow is Sunday, we have declared it as a special day for delivering official polling cards. We plan to distribute the notices door-to-door from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.,” said Mr. Ranasinghe.

Furthermore, he urged residents to remain at home to collect their official polling cards, which require signatures for confirmation of receipt.
