Several spells of showers expected in parts of the island

The Department of Meteorology says that several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (08)

Meanwhile, a few showers may occur in Northern province, it added.

Strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Hambantota, Monaragala and Trincomalee districts, according to the department.
