The Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) says that although the pre-election period of the 2024 Presidential Election was peaceful compared to the other years, there has been a marked increase in incidents of election-related violence observed within the period from September 08 to September 14.

The Executive Director of CaFFE, Manas Makeen highlighted that the majority of the incidents reported were of intimidation, assault of political party supporters, and damages to party offices.

Furthermore, it has been observed that there is an increase in posts insulting presidential candidates being shared on social media, he added.

Meanwhile, the Campaign for Free and Fair Elections warned that if the above trends continue, it may be detrimental to holding a free and fair election.
