Presidential Election 2024: Voter turnout as at 12 noon

The district-level voter turnout percentages for the 2024 Presidential Election as at 12 noon today have been reported with several districts already seeing a turnout of over 40 percent.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the overall voter turnout as at 12 noon today has exceeded 45 percent.
Accordingly, the voter turnout percentages of several districts as at 12.00 noon today (21) are as follows:
Nuwara-Eliya - 45%
Galle - 42%
Matara - 35%
Kurunegala - 50%
Puttalam - 42%
Anuradhapura - 50%
Polonnaruwa - 44%
Moneragala - 32%
Gampaha - 52%
Jaffna - 35%
Mullaitivu - 46%
Vavuniya - 51%
Mannar - 40%
Badulla - 40%
Ratnapura - 58%
Kegalle - 49%
Batticaloa - 23%
Trincomalee - 51%
Colombo - 50%
Voting for the presidential election commenced at 7.00 a.m. this morning at 13,421 polling stations across the island and will continue until 4.00 p.m.
