Grade 5 Scholarship Exam ‘paper leak’: Ministry promises ‘fair solution’

The Ministry of Education says that further investigations area being carried out through the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) regarding the alleged leakage of questions in the question paper of the 2024 Grade 05 Scholarship Examination.

 

The Secretary of the Education Ministry, Thilaka Jayasundara stated that a decision regarding whether to hold the Scholarship Examination again will be made immediately after considering the outcome of the investigations.  

 

Speaking to Ada Derana, the Education Ministry Secretary further stated that a ‘fair solution’ will be reached once the relevant investigations are completed.

 

Meanwhile, the Director of the Planning Division of the National Institute of Education (NIE) in Maharagama, who was arrested by the CID yesterday (24) over the Grade 5 scholarship examination question paper issue, had been remanded until October 07.
