Mawbima Janatha Party (MJP) leader and entrepreneur, Dilith Jayaweera, announced plans to form a major political alliance ahead of the upcoming general elections.

He made these remarks today (26) at a meeting held at the MJP head office in Colombo.

During the event, former State Minister Dilum Amunugama was officially appointed as the national organiser of the MJP.

Jayaweera stated, “In the general election, we are asking for votes in all districts. This time, we are creating the most influential political alliance in Sri Lanka. We have invited politicians, whom we believe will be accepted by the people, to engage in discussions with us.”

“We are contesting the election under the ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ alliance and hope to secure a new symbol for it,” he added.
