Major reshuffle in Sri Lanka Police: New DIG in charge of CID

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), DIG Rohan Premaratne has been transferred to serve as the DIG of Western Province (North).
At the same time, DIG P. Ampavila has been transferred to the CID Range to serve as its new DIG.
Prior to that, he had served in the position of supervising the duties of the Financial Intelligence Unit 02 attached to the Police Headquarters to conduct investigations related to money laundering and the Special Investigation Units established at the Central Bank to investigate prohibited pyramid schemes and virtual currencies.
Meanwhile, DIG D.P. Chandrasiri has been transferred from the post of DIG in charge of Galle Range to serve as DIG of Range.
DIG E.M.G.J. Seram has been transferred from the Community Police and Environment Protection Range to serve as DIG Galle Range.
WDIG Bimshani Jasingarachchi has been transferred from Police Headquarters (Recruitment and Training Range) to serve as the DIG in charge of Community Policing and Environment Protection Range.
The National Police Commission has approved the transfers subject to the approval of the Election Commission of Sri Lanka.
