Applications called for appointing new DG to Bribery Commission

Applications have been called for the position of the Director General to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
Issuing a statement, the Parliamentary Communications Department said that according to the provisions stipulated in the Anti-Corruption Act No 9 of 2023 (as amended), applications are called for the appointment of the Director General to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
For the said, the qualified persons should prepare the relevant applications in accordance with the format published on the Parliament website (www.parliament.lk) falling under the quick links titled “Appointment of the Director General to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption”, the statement added.
The duly completed applications should be sent via registered post referred to the Secretary General of the Constitutional Council, Constitutional Council-Office, Parliament of Sri Lanka, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte or via email to constitutionalcouncil@parliament.lk on or before the 28 October 2024.
The newspaper advertisement for this purpose has been published in the national newspapers on the 13 and 14 October, as per the Parliamentary Communications Department.
Earlier, on October 07, the Director General of the Bribery Commission Kanishka Wijeratne gave undertaking to the Supreme Court to resign from office, after the court granted leave to proceed with three Fundamental Rights (FR) applications filed challenging his appointment as the Director General of the Bribery Commission.
