2024 General Election: EC to release candidates’ preference numbers by tomorrow

The Election Commission has announced that the preference numbers of candidates contesting the upcoming general election will be released by tomorrow (16). 

A spokesperson of the election regulatory body said that the commission has already received the preference numbers from all districts and is in the process of verifying them. Once verified, the documents will be resubmitted to the respective district secretaries.

The commission is working to complete the issuance of preference numbers today (15) and tomorrow (16), according to the election commission. 

In parallel, a meeting between representatives of political parties and the Election Commission is scheduled for this morning. The discussion will cover key aspects of the upcoming parliamentary elections, including the maximum expenditure allowed per candidate.
