Govt. approves fuel subsidy for fishermen

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a subsidy of Rs. 25 per litre of diesel for fisherfolk.

Speaking during the Cabinet press conference held this morning (15), Cabinet Spokesman Vijitha Herath stated that this subsidy will be provided up to Rs. 300,000 per month for a period of 06 months. 

Furthermore, Minister Herath assured that a subsidy of Rs. 15 per litre of kerosene has also been approved for fishermen using kerosene as fuel.
