Showers expected in parts of the country

The Meteorology Department says showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Northern province. Several spells of showers may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-western provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Uva, Eastern and North-central provinces during the evening or night, it added.

Thus, the general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers
