Three Chinese nationals arrested over online scams

Three Chinese nationals suspected to be involved in online financial frauds have been arrested at Gintota in Galle, police said.

Five mobile phones, four credit cards and a passport with no owner found in the possession of the suspects at the time of arrest have also been taken into custody.

The arrests were made following a information received by Galle Police regarding three Chinese nationals suspected of engaging in online scams while staying at a hotel.

Accordingly, three Chinese nationals, aged 33 and 38, were apprehended yesterday (24) at a hotel on Bope Road in the Gintota area of the Galle police division. 

Galle Police are conducting further investigation into the incident.
