Youth drowns while bathing in Theli Ella Falls

A 27-year-old youth has reportedly drowned while bathing in the Theli Ella Falls in Kegalle.
The incident had occurred as he was celebrating his birthday together with a group of friends at the location, a popular spot for locals.
The deceased youth has been identified as Ashan Prabodha, a resident of Kegalle.
However, local residents say the group had been drinking alcohol for several hours near the falls before they decided to take a bath. Later, while the group was bathing in the waterfall, the 27-year-old youth has drowned.
The body of the youth in question had been discovered floating in water, around 1km away from the waterfall last afternoon (18).
The young man who tragically lost his life in the incident was reportedly preparing to travel abroad next week.
