Mammootty, Mohanlal’s film begins filming in Sri Lanka

Touted to be the biggest project in the Malayalam film industry, the Mahesh Narayanan film starring Mammootty and Mohanlal kickstarted its first schedule in Sri Lanka. This multistarrer is bringing together the two biggest stars of the Malayalam film industry, Mammootty and Mohanlal on-screen after more than a decade. Photos and videos from the shooting spot are now going viral.

The film has tentatively been titled MMMN (Mammootty, Mohanlal, Mahesh Narayanan). MMMN is being produced by Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirvad Cinemas and Anto Joseph’s AJFC (Anto Joseph Film Company). The film also stars Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Darshana Rajendran, among others.

The visuals from the sets in Sri Lanka have taken social media by storm. After the pictures posted by Kunchacko Boban on Instagram went viral, several members from the team have released pictures and videos from the sets of the first clap, pooja ceremony and the shoot. Anto Joseph Film Company on their official YouTube page released a video with glimpses of these moments from the sets in Sri Lanka.

Mammootty was last seen in the Vysakh directorial Turbo and will next be seen in Bazooka, which is speculated to release in December 2024. Mohanlal, on the other hand, was last seen in Malaikottai Vaaliban, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. He will next be seen in the children’s fantasy film ‘Barroz’, which will also mark his debut as a director and is slated to release in theatres on December 25, 2024.
