New Members of Parliament sworn-in

The newly elected Members of Parliament were sworn in following the election of the Speaker during the inaugural session of the new Parliament this morning.

The MPs of the tenth Parliament took oath before the new Speaker Asoka Ranwala in the chambers.

The first sitting of the 10th Parliament of Sri Lanka commenced at 10.00 a.m. this morning (21) with the participation of the newly-elected legislators.

After the General Secretary of the Parliament Mrs. Kushani Rohanadheera read the gazette notification issued by the President with regard to the inaugural session of the 10th Parliament, National People’s Power (NPP) Gampaha District MP Asoka Sapumal Ranwala was unanimously elected as the new Speaker of Parliament.
