Representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are scheduled to issue an official statement this morning (23) regarding the third review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
The announcement is expected to include details of a Staff-Level Agreement on economic policies related to concluding the third review.
The Government of Sri Lanka confirmed that discussions on the third review under the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility program were successfully concluded yesterday (22).
The meeting, held at the Presidential Secretariat, was attended by a delegation representing the IMF, led by Senior Mission Chief Peter Breuer, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.
Representing the Sri Lankan government, the delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Professor Anil Jayantha Fernando.
Accordingly, the discussions between the IMF and the Government of Sri Lanka pertaining to the third review were successfully concluded, the statement said.
